What we are doing

Cycling for Upper Dolpo Saturday, June 27th sees the gruelling, one-day bike ride “Cycling for Upper Dolpo” in aid of the Upper Dolpo project. We will be riding all the way from Sibbe in South Limburg to Pieterburen in North Groningen, with short stops along the way in Voorst, Bakker, Bril and Zuidwolde. This is a total of 360km in just one day. Every cyclist taking part is looking for sponsorship of €2,500 each. It promises to be a fantastic day with lots of media attention. TV Oost joins us in Voorst and TV Drenthe in Zuidwolde. Radio Wolden will be broadcasting live from the event all day. Some riders will be tackling the whole 360km themselves; others are doubling up with a partner and will cycle the distance between them: one going halfway to Voorst and then passing the baton on to their buddy who will complete the ride. Others join us for the final stage from Zuidwolde to Pieterburen. Keen cyclists already signed up include: Alderman of Wolden, Jan Sand; former professional cyclist and Rotarian in Hoogeveen, Rudi Nagengast; famous Zuidwoldiger triathlete, Johan Hulsebosch as well as  super-fit Amsterdam students, Reinier Havinga and Ajien Ang (who doubles up as the team physio) along with project founder Jan Nickels. We still need more so why not sign up!
